Better segmentation options
planned

Segmentation options are rather limited right now. Even a simple set of "I'm interested in" options for subscribers isn't possible. This could be significantly improved in two ways:
- add the option to segment based on wp_usermeta fields. This would allow me to gather subscriber information by many other methods (Gravity Forms, Buddy Press, etc), and then create email segments based on that.
- add a PHP API which would allow me to define my own segments by any criteria I want. While this would require a developer to take advantage of, it might make it easier for creating new segmentation options in MailPoet itself, so possibly worthwhile for both third party and your own developers :-)

Segmentation would be amazing to cross reference multiple lists. Example: Create a segment for subscribers in list a but not in list b.

I hope the MailPoet team moves this from 'planned' to working on/in progress soon. We REALLY need segmentation feature. It will open up a whole new level of flexibility and personalization to the plugin that is currently lacking.
A tagging feature that adds tags to the user meta data would be a fantastic way to implement this. I'd like to tag users based on actions they take, Woo products they buy, etc. and then send emails out based on what tags they have or don't have. This is a must-have feature!

I wonder if Mail Poet will move toward being more professional like MooSend or even Convert kit feature wise. Even though I have a lifetime deal, it is just missing too many basic functions to invest in as a business solution. Hopefully Woo Commerce will make this more useful.

The ability to filter the subscribers dynamically through URL parameters and custom fields would be really powerful.
Real estate companies could mail offers for new properties filtering appropriated customers

+1 in support for PHP API, especially for definition of dynamic segments.

@Ján Mikláš: Will this planned feature include the ability to segment a block please? For example, please only display this block to these lists? Very powerful feature that helps us personalise conversations with customers.

@Freddy Baker: hey, definitely not. We are actually not even thinking about this kind of segmentation, but feel free to create new feature request and we might change our minds if it's in high demand

Yes, I would like it too. My use case is as described here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/let-users-assign-to-lists-segments/#post-13474633
(Instead of sending one mail per topic merge them into one mail, but based on topics the addressee is interested in – so be able to not send all topics to all folks.)

WooCommerce Segment based on Purchase Date

It would be great if we could segment our list based on customer purchase data through WooCommerce. For example, sometimes I don't want to send a promotional newsletter out to those who purchased within the past two weeks. It would be great if I could filter them out.

Ability to use lists to exclude from segment. ie people in list A and list B are used to exclude from overlap in list C
