Show Popup form on click

It would be useful to be able to trigger the popup form by clicking on a button. The popup form would need to allow the designer to specify an anchor name that they can then use to attach to a link or button. The form can then be inserted using the other controls (all pages, all posts, specific pages, specific posts, via shortcode, etc) but the trigger would be limited to the click event.

It's clearly needed !

This would be most helpful. Would save having to install additional plugins etc. Is doable now too, but with workarounds/plugins. Would just make life easier.

It's not possible.
Here are two workarounds:
• You can link to a full "Newsletter" or "Signup" page that includes the form.
• You could also drop the MailPoet form shortcode into a popup maker plugin, such as - https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-popups-lite/ - The Free version of this plugin will do what you need.

Travis Pflanz: The problem with your second suggestion is they limit you on the information you can use in your emails because they restrict custom fields from other forms. All you can use in your emails are name and email.
