New segment: WooCommerce Product Tag
planned
fotokart
Hi,
As I have noticed, currently Mailpoet has no feature for sending according to the Woocommerce product tags. As a vintage shop, our customers decide their next purchases (mostly) aligned with their “interest themes”, not their spesific product purchase or category. So this means product tags have crucial role here and it would be great if you develop multi-tagging product feature and connect it to the subscriber segments.
Thanks.

I need to somehow segment subscribers by product attributes or tags of the purchased product.
Category is not always reflect the scope of interest. Tags and attributes are more flexible in this regard.

Hi John, thank you for the feature request!
Could you please tell me more about how you would use it in your own business?
I'm not sure if it's anywhere close to what you had in mind, but the example I'm picturing is understanding people's sizes based on their past clothing purchases to ensure that any products recommended in the future would be in stock.

Tautvidas:
Thank you for your feedback.
Here's a little more specific explanation:
The business I'm in is allergen free food market.
The product categories are based on regular food categories (like pasta, canned food, sauces).
However, the products have a lot of allergen-free attributes which creates a whole other type of grouping.
E.g. gluten free, lactose free, peanut free, egg-free, and 20 other more...
My idea is to send automatic email about gluten-free products on sale to only those who purchased gluten-free products before.
Because, in terms of food allergies, it's very important to send personalized offers that corresponds to the allergy of people who are sensitive to protein for example. They are not interested in vegan products, and vegans are probably not interested in gluten-free products full of starches.
Product categories are rigid in terms of SEO, it's bad practice to modify, delete them.
Product attributes and tags are more flexible to group products with many overlapping possibilities.
They can be use for marketing purposes too, like labeling products of 'Black Friday', 'Christmas sale', etc.
Hoping, this would help.

John Connor: The additional details are incredibly helpful, thank you so much!
I feel I have a much better picture of the challenge, and can dig deeper from here.
Today I do not have any specific timelines to share, but I've taken a note and will follow up once we have something more concrete to share.

Happy that helped.
Sounds good, and I'm really looking forward to any advancement in this matter.
