MailPoet Feature Request: Abandoned Cart Analytics and Conversion Tracking
Kevin Brown
The proposed feature aims to enhance the MailPoet plugin by adding an abandoned cart analytics section that provides insights into customer behavior during the abandoned cart stage. Additionally, the feature should track conversions specifically attributed to abandoned cart recovery emails.
Key Functionality:
- Abandoned Cart Orders Tab:A dedicated tab within the Orders section displaying the list of abandoned cart orders. This tab should allow users to view detailed information, such as the items left in the cart, the geographical location of the potential buyer, and other relevant data to better understand the reason behind abandonment.
- Abandoned Cart Recovery Conversion Statistics:A statistics overview/report that highlights the number of recovered orders directly linked to abandoned cart recovery emails sent via MailPoet. This will enable users to measure the success of the recovery email campaigns built in MailPoet.
Use Case:
E-commerce store owners often want to analyze abandoned carts' details to better understand what drives their abandonment. By providing these insights, they can develop strategies to reduce cart abandonment rates and enhance their customer experience.
Furthermore, being able to measure the performance of abandoned cart recovery emails encourages users to continue employing MailPoet's features and optimize their email campaigns.
Impact:
The feature will provide MailPoet users with a better understanding of their customers, a more streamlined user experience, and the ability to measure the effectiveness of their abandoned cart email campaigns. Thus, leading to increased conversions and potentially higher user satisfaction with MailPoet.

The features mentioned above would complete the functionality of the Mailpoet abandoned cart plugin and will then become a very useful plugin to use!
To be honest, until this update is added there is not really adequate information from this plugin and this is very disappointing.
I have used abandoned cart function on other websites I have worked on and they have been far more informative.
When do you think this update will be added so we can really benefit from abandon cart analytics with Mailpoet?
I hope it’s soon 😊
