Copy and Paste removing all formatting
Christ John Otto
I write a weekly newsletter and all the formatting from the original is removed when I copy and paste into Mailpoet. I've tried every work around, but you have put this in the code. This includes returns and line spacing. Since we send newsletters in mulitple languages I have to reformat the text each time we create a new email. It's getting to the point where I might leave Mailpoet since this is about the most basic of functions and it is increasing my work load exponentially. All the ecommece automations are great for marketing, but right now mailpoet is making it hard to create content. Please fix.

If the original text is not HTML the formatting won't be compatible anway. If you can convert your original text to HTML first then you should be able to paste it into your emails (whilst viewing them in 'Source Code' mode) without any problems. 'Export to HTML' is available in Word and other word processing programs.
That said, personally do prefer to work with clean text and re-format it in MailPoet to make sure the formatting is all totally MailPoet-friendly. I use the formatting keyboard shortcuts as they save a huge amount of time.

David Smith: duh! Why didn’t I think of that? I’m a writer who normally uses a composition platform. I will give it a try and see if writing in mailpoet is not too distracting. Thanks.

Christ John Otto: Glad to have been of help. I guess it depends whether you're writing your own copy or using files sent to you by others. I usually receive text from others, so I strip out all the formatting using BBEdit and paste that into MailPoet, finally re-formatting it there.
When I write my own text I tend to start from scratch in MailPoet as it autosaves so there's no danger of losing any of my hard work.
