I totally agree, at the moment pop-up forms are not really usable, for this reason.

Beware, many users that are not aware of this, will begin using Mailpoet forms and they will realize they convert much less than other services. This may result in bad reviews "Mailpoet forms are nice but they don't convert..."

I hope you can add this feature, or at least set the cookie to expire in one week. If the form appears once each week, I think it's OK. Not too often to bother your visitors, but yet not disappearing for one entire year.
